  6. Apply for a federal Employer Identification Number.
  7. Secure financing, if needed.
  8. Establish record-keeping procedures for financial management, personnel, maintenance, marketing, and innovation.
  9. Secure insurance coverage for your business, including premises liability coverage, business vehicle coverage, and worker’s compensation insurance if needed.
  10. Set up bank accounts for your business.
  11. Secure necessary business licenses.
